Nebraska wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd, shown here last September vs. Northern Iowa, transferred to Oklahoma State earlier this week.

Former Nebraska wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd has found his landing spot after entering the transfer portal .
The Omaha Westside graduate is headed to Oklahoma State to play out his final two seasons of eligibility, choosing the Cowboys over interest from Arkansas and Mississippi State.
Oklahoma State, which retained head coach Mike Gundy after a 3-9 season — albeit with a restructured contract — identified Lloyd as a key player OSU can build around after overhauling its offense this winter.
Oklahoma State’s starting quarterback, starting running back and top three wide receivers from this season have all moved on, leaving an opportunity for Lloyd to stake a claim as the Cowboys’ top big-play threat. Lloyd had three touchdown catches of 50 or more yards during his freshman season with Nebraska in 2023.
And could an Omaha connection emerge in Stillwater, Oklahoma? As the Cowboys search for their next starting quarterback — TCU transfer Hauss Hejny is one such option — former Gretna standout Zane Flores remains in the mix. Flores, who’ll be a redshirt sophomore in 2025, might’ve gotten his shot this fall if not for the season-ending ankle injury he suffered in October.
Two other Huskers who departed this year's team, wide receiver Isaiah McMorris and cornerback Syncere Safeeullah, have also identified where they’ll play their college football moving forward.
McMorris, a Bellevue West graduate who appeared in one game during a redshirt season this fall, is headed to Missouri State. A consistent playoff team at the FCS level in recent seasons, Missouri State will join the FBS in 2025 as a member of Conference USA.
Safeeullah, on the other hand, is dropping down a level as he heads to Tennessee State. A cornerback who redshirted in 2023 and then departed the Nebraska football team early this fall, Safeeullah will look to get his career back on track at a program that made the FCS playoffs this season. A Nashville native, Safeeullah will also be returning home in the process.
A Nebraska connection has also emerged at another FCS school, Grambling State. Mickey Joseph, a former NU assistant and interim head coach, now leads the program — and his latest transfer commitment is a familiar one to Husker fans.
Decoldest Crawford, a 2022 Husker signee, is headed to play for Joseph. Having suffered an injury in his redshirt season with the Huskers, Crawford has only caught two passes over the last three seasons — and they came as a Nebraska opponent.
Having spent the last two seasons at Louisiana Tech, Crawford’s only significant playing time at wide receiver came during a 2023 road game against the Huskers.
