At least three key Nebraska players still with the team won’t play in the Pinstripe Bowl next week.
Cornerback Tommi Hill, offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua and receiver Isaiah Neyor will all sit out the Dec. 28 game, NU coach Matt Rhule said Friday.
Hill, who has graduated, continues to heal from a banged-up second half of the season.
Mazzccua underwent labrum surgery on his left shoulder after playing through the injury at left tackle in November.
Neyor continues to practice with the team but is opting out to stay healthy ahead of his appearance in the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Other players who have already entered the portal also won’t take part including starting running back Dante Dowdell, co-1 tight end Nate Boerkircher, defensive lineman Jimari Butler and others.
