A Lincoln man has been accused of sex trafficking after he allegedly posted sex ads and rented out hotel rooms for a woman he brought to Lincoln, police say.
Alex King, 26, directed a 22-year-old woman from Texas to come to Lincoln, where she had no job or means to provide for herself, according to the affidavit for his arrest.
King later lost his job and relied on the commercial sex work done by the victim for money. He set the prices for the services, the affidavit said.
The victim said she was performing sex acts on 50 to 150 people a week.
The investigation revealed that King and the victim also traveled to Illinois in April 2023 to perform commercial sex acts.
The money earned from the sex acts performed by the victim went to King, according to the affidavit.

Judge Laurie Yardley set his percentage bond at $500,000, meaning he must pay $50,000 to be released.

A note about the numbers
With eight violent crimes in 2019, Boys Town topped the state at 13.82 per 1,000 people, which is a misleading stat because it only had a 2019 population of 579.
