Pittsburgh and Nebraska keep winning to maintain their spots as the top two teams in college volleyball.
Pittsburgh stayed at No. 1 in the new American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings released on Monday. The Panthers are 23-1 and have an eight-match winning streak.
And for the eighth straight week Nebraska is ranked No. 2. The Huskers have a 24-1 record and a 21-match winning streak. The Huskers have won 15 straight sets, dating to a match against Michigan last month.
Pittsburgh got 49 of the first-place votes in the poll, with Nebraska the remaining 12 first-place votes.
The top 6 in the poll, in order, is Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Louisville, Penn State, Creighton and Wisconsin.
SMU, with wins against Pittsburgh and Nebraska, is ranked 10th at 19-6.

After two weeks of road matches, Nebraska is back on its home court to host No. 16 Minnesota (16-8, 9-5 Big Ten) on Thursday. The 8 p.m. match is on Big Ten Network.
After last weekend Nebraska has the early advantage in the Big Ten standings after Wisconsin crushed then-No. 3 Penn State in three sets on Saturday. Nebraska and Penn State each entered the day undefeated in the league.
So now Nebraska leads the Big Ten with three weeks to go. Here’s the top of the standings: Nebraska (14-0), Penn State (13-1), Wisconsin (12-2) and Purdue (11-3).
Also on Monday, Nebraska libero Lexi Rodriguez was named the Big Ten defensive player of the week. Rodriguez had 11 digs in Nebraska’s three-set win against Washington on Saturday, including digging some big shots early in the match.
