Good morning, Lincoln. Here's what you should know today.
Election results Thousands of Nebraskans fulfilled their civic duty Tuesday, deciding several key statewide and local races as well as a handful of ballot initiatives.
The Journal Star has all the results, trends and storylines from the historic Election Day.
Head to for the latest information and continued coverage of how Tuesday’s election will impact the state and Lincoln moving forward.
LPD investigating death The Lincoln Police Department is investigating the death of a 65-year-old woman who was found underneath an SUV with serious injuries last week, according to court documents.
On Oct. 30 at about 7:40 a.m., LPD officers and members of Lincoln Fire and Rescue were sent to a residence near North Ninth and Court streets on reports of a medical emergency, an LPD investigator stated in an affidavit for a search warrant.
Police located Diana King with a portion of her body underneath the SUV . According to the affidavit, King was found with bruising and contusions all over her body. She died the next day at the hospital.
Police said Tuesday they are still investigating what led up to King’s death and had not ruled it a homicide.
North Star volleyball headed to state For the first time in a decade, the Lincoln North Star volleyball team is state-bound . With a first-year coach, too.
Jeremiah Kroll took the job with an expectation of winning despite taking over a program that had endured seven consecutive losing seasons.
Kroll said he heard early in the season that people wanted to label the Gators as a young team, which he viewed as an excuse.
“I expected the same level of production from every player, whether senior or freshman — I didn’t care," he said.
North Star is one of four teams from Lincoln that made it to state, joining Southwest, Pius X and Lutheran.
