A fundraiser is being organized for the family of a worker who died Monday after falling from the roof of Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School. Â
Mark McNamara, vice president advancement and director of communications at Gross, said Tuesday that he could confirm the worker was pronounced dead at an Omaha hospital. The Bellevue Police Department identified the man as Sander Gonzalez-Monoz, 24, of Omaha.Â
Gonzalez-Monoz, who was working for company Titan Pro Roofing, fell through a skylight and landed in the school's gym, a spokesperson for the police department said. No students witnessed the fall, McNamara said.Â
"There was an incident involving one of the roofers doing roof repairs," McNamara said. "We contacted 911 and bystanders immediately began CPR until Bellevue firefighters arrived."Â

A statement sent to families of the Gross High students on Monday requested prayers for Gonzalez-Monoz and outlined the fundraising effort, which involves students bringing money to school. Counselors from Catholic Charities were at the school Tuesday for anyone needing assistance, McNamara said.Â
"In honor of this gentleman and to support his family, we will be raising funds through a dress down day on Wednesday, Oct 30," the statement said. "Students are asked to bring a minimum of $2 to dress in school appropriate casual attire, including sweats and hoodies. If you would like to contribute additionally, you are welcome to send that donation with your child on Wednesday or contact the Advancement office to make other arrangements."
Bellevue firefighters responded to the school at 7700 S 43rd St. at about 11:15 a.m. for a report of a man falling from the roof. Gonzalez-Monoz was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with life-saving measures in progress, according to a spokeswoman for the Bellevue Fire Department's emergency services.Â
