A former University of Nebraska interim president and chief financial officer was named a senior administrator at Ohio State University earlier this week.
Chris Kabourek, the senior vice president for business and finance at NU since 2018, was named senior vice president for administration and planning at Ohio State.

Former NU President Ted Carter, who started as Ohio State's top leader earlier this year, announced the hiring on Oct. 28.
"I worked closely with Chris and can speak to his considerable skill set, professionalism and collegial approach to our work in higher education," Carter wrote in the announcement.
Carter cited Kabourek's expertise in facilities and capital planning, accounting, budgeting, procurement and "deep appreciation" for the role of a public university in luring him to Columbus.

If the Ohio State Board of Trustees approves the hiring, Kabourek will start Nov. 1.
Kabourek stepped down at NU on Sept. 30 after 27 years at the university in various roles.
A native of David City, Kabourek managed NU's $3.3 billion operating budget, and was instrumental in the university embarking on an ambitious deferred maintenance program.
Appointed interim president by the Board of Regents following Carter's departure, Kabourek started the Presidential Scholars Program, which awards Nebraska students free tuition if they score a perfect 36 on the ACT, and also hired Husker Athletic Director Troy Dannen.
In his letter announcing his resignation, Kabourek questioned whether he had grown too comfortable in his position at NU.
"Is it time for me to get uncomfortable again?" he wrote. "Over time, I've found clarity — the answer to that question is yes."
NU President Jeff Gold, who succeeded Kabourek in July, appointed Anne Barnes, the vice chancellor for business, finance and business development at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, as interim chief financial officer.
