Stephen ¶Ù'´¡³¾´Ç°ù±ðÌýwas chargedWednesday with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers responded Saturday at about 11:50 p.m. to D'Amore's residence near 64th and Adams streets on a report of a fight in progress and found 16-year-old Xavian Sawyer outside with two stab wounds.
Sawyer was takenÌý³Ù´Ç a local hospital, where he died.
After the stabbing, police were told that D'Amore — an eighth grader at Culler Middle SchoolÌý²ú³Ü³Ù was participating in an alternative program — went back inside the residence.
LPD Assistant Chief Jason Stille said investigators believe a fight had taken place at a different location earlier on Saturday and that Sawyer and D'Amore were familiar with each other before the stabbing.
Sawyer, who was a student at Lincoln East, was not believedÌý³Ù´Çhave been armed during the altercation.
Police are continuing to conduct interviews in connection to the killing.
At Wednesday's arraignment, a deputy Lancaster County attorney asked for D'Amore's percentage bond to be set at $1 million because of the seriousness of the accusations.
D'Amore's lawyer, Eric Hagen, told the judge when requesting a $250,000 bond amount that, "this is not like a typical murder case."
He referenced the suspect's age and that he had no means to travel anywhere, therefore not posing a flight risk.
Ultimately, Judge Thomas Zimmerman set D'Amore's percentage bond at $750,000, meaning he would have to pay $75,000 to be released.
"We are disappointed bond was set that high," Hagen said. "We look forward to defending (D'Amore).
D'Amore is being held at the Lancaster County Youth Services Center.
Over 50 family and friends gathered at Oak Lakes Park Wednesday afternoon to remember Sawyer.Â
Four collages were set up in his memory on a park picnic bench showcasing pictures of Sawyer.
Red, white and black balloons were brought and released, letting them drift into the sky in honor of Sawyer.
