A California woman is in jail after a Nebraska State Patrol trooper found 12 packages of methamphetamine in her rental car Friday, according to court documents.Â
Heather Valle, 42, was stopped on Interstate 80 near Lincoln for following too closely, documents say.
She told the trooper she was traveling from Los Angeles to Des Moines, but said the car was a third-party rental from a friend she has known for several months and didn't know the friend's last name, documents say.Â
The trooper wrote that Valle was shaking, sweating and nervous. A police dog was called to the stop and indicated an odor of drugs coming from the car, documents say.Â
Valle consented to a search of the car that turned up 12 pounds of meth found inside the car's doors, the court document said.
Valle is in jail on suspicion of possession of meth with the intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp.
