The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will host a celebration of life for Colleen Jones, emeritus professor of practice in management, from 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The event is open to the public.
Jones, who died June 18, focused her teaching on leadership, organizational behavior and development, and management communications. She was honored for her servant leadership by the Lincoln Community Foundation in 2023. The award committee identified nearly 20 instances of Jones’ formal community service, including many leadership roles.
Jones was also recently honored as the Lincoln Journal Star's Inspire Woman of the Year.
There will be a ceremony from 4-5:30 p.m. and a reception following. Individuals can on the Facebook page "Celebration of Life for Dr. Mae Colleen Jones."
