Class B No. 2 Norris was perfect at home entering Tuesday night and they remained flawless as the Titans swept Class C-2 No. 1 Lincoln Lutheran.
The set scores were 25-20, 26-24 and 25-22.
The Titans got off to a hot start, jumping out to an early 5-2 lead, and they didn’t ease up. Norris led throughout the first set, dominating both sides of the net. Anna Jelinek led with seven kills, including the set-deciding one. Kendall Cose contributed four kills and two blocks in the opening set as well.
The second set wasn’t perfect, but the Titans persevered. After Lincoln Lutheran battled back from an early 3-0 deficit, the Warriors took their first lead of the match at 7-6. They extended their lead to 11-7 before Norris roared back. The Titans responded to the Warriors’ six-point run with an eight-point run of their own. Despite several hitting and service errors, the Warriors put together another run, setting themselves up for a 24-22 lead. But after a Norris timeout, the Titans rattled off four consecutive points to secure the set.

With all the momentum on the Titans’ side, Norris continued to apply pressure, jumping to another early 4-0 lead in the third. Jelinek continued her dominant performance, tallying five more kills, including the final two points of the match.
Lily Wohlgemuth led the Lutheran offense with 10 kills, while Ava Jurevicius had nine kills and Bella Sjuts added five. For Norris, Jelinek led the offense with 16 kills, while Kendall Cose contributed eight, and Alli Bornschlegl added seven.
Jelinek posted an impressive .300 hitting percentage. In a game full of hitting miscues from both sides, her 40% kill percentage stood out.
Norris' starting setter, Malorie Boesiger, has been out all season, but her absence has led the Titans to play as a more cohesive unit. With Jelinek, Cose and Bornschlegl leading the offense, and Rya Borer, Zoe Rademacher and Lexi Hasselbalch anchoring the defense, the Titans have developed into a well-rounded team.
With Tuesday’s sweep, the Titans proved once again they're a serious contender for a state title.
