Three state championships take place Monday at Omaha's Connie Claussen Field.
Here is a breakdown between all three classes.
Class A
No. 1 Gretna (37-0) vs. No. 3 Millard North (31-6), 6:30 p.m.
The two former Metro Conference foes go head-to-head for the third time this season and for the biggest prize of all.
Gretna, now part of the Eastern Midlands Conference, took victories over the Mustangs 7-1 and 10-0 in the regular-season.
But there is plenty on the line in this one.
The winner wins its schools second state softball championship. The Mustangs last won the title in 1993. The Dragons last won a title in 2015 when they were in Class B.
Millard North kept Gretna out of the state championship in 2023 with a 5-4 victory.
Alexis Jensen has a big arm for the Dragons, tallying 31 strikeouts thus far in the state tournament. Carlie Muhlbach provides a big bat, homering 17 times in the regular season and with three more and 10 RBIs in the tournament.
Millard North has its own arms and big bats.
Abby Beard hit 11 home runs in the regular season and has six in the tournament — she has a pair of three-home run games in the tournament.
Behind the arms of Daniela Ramirez, Jayda Juarez and Jadyn Pokorny, Millard North has the arms to compete.
Gretna finished runner-up in 2022 with the Mustangs finishing second in 2023.
The Lady Orange and Tigers met twice in the regular season with Beatrice and Hastings splitting meetings.
It could be a true pitchers duel, with both teams having strong arms, or a slugfest could break out.
The game features six hitters that have hit six or more homers this season.
Kenya Chavez Gutierrez leads Hastings with 14 long balls, while junior Brook Ochsner went deep seven times in the regular season.
It has been other bats that have done damage in the state tournament.
Ella Tinsman, who homered just three times before the state tournament, has homered in back-to-back state tournament games — that includes a grand slam. Madison Wenzl has also homered in back-to-back games for Hastings.
On the other side, sophomore Tatum Tempelmeyer introduced herself to the rest of the field with three blasts and nine RBIs in a game earlier in the tournament. Leading off Beatrice, Templemeyer has 12 RBIs in the state tournament after finishing with just 11 in the regular season.
It could be the arms that rule the show Monday.
Tinsman, 23-2, has pitched the Tigers to three state tournament victories with 22 strikeouts.
Layla Boyko has pitched two victories for the Lady Orange with 21 strikeouts, including a 14-strikeout performance to reach the championship.
Hastings will go for its first state softball title, finishing second in 2020 and 2021. The Lady Orange look to lift the trophy for the fourth time and first since 2003.
Class C
No. 2 Bishop Neumann (32-3) vs. No. 6 DC West (27-8), 12:30 p.m.
DC West enters the title game for the first time, winning its last eight and allowing just 13 runs in that span. Bishop Neumann looks to improve its 2023 runner-up trophy. The Cavaliers won in 2021.
The Falcons are making a mark in their first state tournament appearance with wins over No. 1 Hastings St. Cecilia and two over No. 4 Fort Calhoun.
Bishop Neumann and DC West met once in the regular season with the Cavaliers taking an 8-0 victory.
The Cavaliers are on an 11-game win streak and have won 20 of their last 21 games.
Bridget Whitney, who returned from injury before the state tournament, homered twice to help put the Cavaliers back into the title game for the second year in a row.
No matter the outcome, DC West will make room for a trophy as the best finish in school history.
Senior Sydney Atkins is leaving a mark in the circle with a 22-7 record and the bats keep hitting. Izzabella Zach and Atkins each homered against Fort Calhoun with Maddison Zach homering twice.
The trio have combined for seven home runs in the last two games.
Atkins has allowed just five runs over the last three games and DC West has outscored opponents 34-5.
Bishop Neumann's Addison Sylliaasen leads the Cavaliers circle with a 27-2 record and has struck out 31 batters over her last three games.
