Jordan Huber homered three times and had eight RBIs over three games as Lincoln Pius X defeated No. 4 Omaha Skutt in a best-of-three series at the B-5 district Saturday in Omaha.
Huber homered twice with six RBIs in the Bolts' 12-10 eight-inning win in Game 1. She then hit a two-run homer in the decisive Game 3 after Omaha Skutt cruised in Game 2, winning 10-2.
B-4 at Beatrice:Â The Lady Orange will make state tournament appearance No. 22 after they beat Elkhorn North twice, by scores of 12-3 and 11-7. Brooke Gleason led Beatrice with three hits in Game 1 of the best-of-three series, including three RBIs behind a home run and two doubles. But it was the Callie Schwisow show in Beatrice's 11-7 victory with four RBIs and finished a double shy of the cycle.
C-5 at Auburn: No. 10Â DC West is going to its first-ever state tournament after Sydney Atkins hit a two-run, walk-off home run vs. No. 7 Aurora. Atkins' big swing came for DC West, which won by scores of 8-0 at 6-5.
Centennial Conference: Class C-2 No. 1 Lincoln Lutheran won its conference by defeating C-1 No. 6 Kearney Catholic in two sets, 25-17, 25-15. The Stars held a 8-4 lead in the second set that the Warriors were able to come back from. Lily Wohlgemuth led with 8 kills.
Eastern Midlands Conference: Class B No. 2 Norris won a conference title in two sets over No. 5 Waverly, 25-15, 25-20. Senior Anna Jelinek led the way with 11 kills. Lexi Hasselbalch added in another seven.
Trailblazer Conference: Wahoo won a thrilling five-set match over Malcolm, 20-25, 25-18, 25-14, 24-26, 15-12, for a conference title. Chloe Kasischke led the Warriors with 15 kills. McKenna Smith also had another 14.
