Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigators are working to identify the body of a man found Tuesday in the Missouri River north of Omaha.
The body of an adult male was located about 6:20 p.m. near the Douglas County-Washington County line, according to a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office. Members of the Sheriff's Office water patrol and the fire departments of Omaha and Council Bluffs responded to a report of someone seeing a body floating in the river.Â

The crew of an Omaha police helicopter was able to locate the body just south of 14445 N. River Drive. The body was brought to the boat landing at NP Dodge Park and turned over to the Sheriff's Office for investigation.Â
Anyone with information concerning this incident is being asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 402-444-6000.Â
