The Lincoln Board of Education introduced several contracts giving the district’s top administrators a 2.88 percent salary increase next year during board action Tuesday night.
Board members will consider the contracts, which call for an increase identical to that approved by teachers in January, at the board's May 26 meeting.
Under a proposed three-year contract, Superintendent Steve Joel’s base salary would increase from $299,804 to $308,438 for the 2015-16 school year, and bring his total salary and benefits package to $356,368 a year.
Ed Zimmer, who will leave the board after serving 19 years, was one of several board members who gave Joel praise Tuesday, calling the proposal “a recommendation for the future.â€
“This is very much in line with the overall increases for other employees,†Zimmer said. “This is worked out between the board and the superintendent, and I think this is a fair contract on which we can move forward.â€

Other administrators on Joel's Executive Team, who would receive a 2.88 percent increase in base salary next year as part of two-year contracts, include:
• Eric Weber, associate superintendent for human resources, at a base salary of $200,559.
• Liz Standish, associate superintendent for business affairs, at a base salary of $200,559.
• Jane Stavem, associate superintendent for instruction, at a base salary of $213,474.
• John Neal, assistant to the superintendent for general administration and government affairs, at a base salary of $172,025.
The 2.88 percent increase, a parameter set by the board earlier this year, would also match agreements reached with the Custodial Employees Association and Office Professionals Association.
According to Weber, the associate superintendent of human resources, the Custodial Employees Association’s total benefits package will increase by 3.44 percent next year, while the Office Professionals Association’s total compensation will increase by 3.34 percent.
The four associate superintendents would see a 3.16 percent increase in their total benefits package.
Each of the contracts and agreements will be considered by the board for approval in two weeks.
