Reopening Pound, built in 1963, comes despite several on- and off-campus student apartments opening in recent years.
Since 2010, three suite-style resident halls east of 17th and R streets have opened to UNL students, while five apartment complexes near campus -- the 50/50, Canopy Lofts, Parkhaus, Latitude and Prime Place -- have opened.
Two more off-campus apartment complexes, Aspen Heights near Antelope Valley and 8N Lofts in the South Haymarket, are scheduled to open this fall.
