A 41-year-old man allegedly hit his 44-year-old female roommate with a metal bat early Friday morning, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
A neighbor called police shortly after midnight Friday on report of a neighbor hitting another person with a bat. Upon arriving to the 700 block of West Bellezza Street, officers found Dale Kesselring, 41, restrained on the ground by a 41-year-old neighbor. A 44-year-old woman at the scene had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Kesselring allegedly entered the woman's bedroom and began assaulting her with a metal bat. They said the two are non-romantic roommates.
Police said the woman was then able to leave the residence and ask a neighbor for help. Kesselring allegedly followed after and continued hitting the woman with the bat. Police said the neighbor then grabbed a shovel, which he used to disarm Kesselring and restrain him until police arrived.
