A Lincoln couple fought off an attacker armed with a gun Wednesday night, Lincoln police said.
The woman, 61, was unloading groceries from the back of their car outside their home in the 2900 block of Woodsdale Boulevard just before 11 p.m. when she she felt a hand reach across her face, Sgt. Randy Clark said.
At first, she thought one of her son’s friends was playing a prank, but realized it wasn’t a joke when the attacker tightened his grip, Clark said.

She fought back, biting the man’s hand, screaming and swinging bags of groceries over her shoulder, he said.
Then her husband, 62, came out and saw a man dressed in all black, his face hidden by a white mask, Clark said.
The attacker pointed a semiautomatic handgun at the man, who lunged at him, the sergeant said.
