The craft brewery at 68th and P streets said in a post that it is "completely out of money, time, and resources to continue on."
"With a heavy heart and a clear mind, we have some difficult news to share, Cosmic Eye Brewing will be closing our doors on June 1, 2024," the brewery said in a Facebook post.
Sam Riggins, his wife and his parents opened the brewery in the fall of 2018 in the former Laser Quest space.
Riggins, a former brewer for Nebraska Brewing Company in Papillion, told the Journal Star in 2018 that opening his own brewery was "always part of the plan."
Cosmic Eye, which Riggins said was a name pulled out of the air after his first choice ran into trademark issues, had established itself through a number of specialty beers brewed through collaborations with other businesses and organizations, including Precision Skateboards and local tattoo shops.
Cosmic Eye said in its Facebook post that all events booked for May will go on as usual, but it will be discontinuing bingo and trivia nights. It also will be selling off all of its merchandise and beer inventory over the next month.
"If you have supported us over the years, saying thanks doesn’t even begin to cover it. We’ve met so many amazing people, shared in your lives, and cherish every opportunity that the brewery brought us," Cosmic Eye said in the post. "We hope that you feel the same and continue to live a most cosmic life."
