The Lumineers will play Pinewood Bowl on May 30.
The concert was announced Tuesday morning on the Pinewood Bowl Theater Facebook page.
Driven by the nearly 4-million-selling hit “Ho Hey,†the Denver-based Lumineers are one of the hottest bands in music. Their self-titled 2012 debut album hit No. 2 on the Billboard charts in January and has sold 1.2 million copies, a rarity in the 2013 record business.
The folk rock band was nominated for a pair of Grammys -- best new artist and best Americana album -- and performed on the Grammy telecast.
Founding members singer/guitarist Wesley Shultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites began writing songs together in 2005 when they lived in New York. After moving to Denver, they found cellist Neyla Pekarek via a Craiglist ad and began playing as a trio while forming the band’s signature sound that blends acoustic rock, pop and traditional folk.

In 2011, The Lumineers released an EP and began touring. In 2012, the group added bassist Ben Wahamaki and pianist Stelth Ulvang and released its first album on Dualtone Records.
The Lumineers join and as the leading bands in the folk/roots revival and have developed a strong following for their uplifting live performances.
The Lumineers will perform at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater outside Kansas City, a far larger venue than Pinewood Bowl, the day after the Lincoln concert. A week later, they will play Bonnaroo, one of six festivals now listed on their itinerary.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show that also will include Cold War Kids and J. Roddy Waltson & The Business go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Pershing Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, and by phone at 800-745-3000. All tickets are $35 and all are general admission. There is a six ticket per purchase limit.
