Women's clothing chain Charlotte Russe announced Wednesday that it will liquidate and close all stores, including the Lincoln store at Gateway Mall.
Liquidation sales started Thursday, and the company is no longer selling online. It said it will honor gift cards in stores until March 21.
Charlotte Russe declared bankruptcy last month and announced plans to close 94 stores while attempting to restructure. However, a bankruptcy court judge on Wednesday approved a plan to sell its assets to a liquidation company.
Charlotte Russe, which had about 500 stores in the U.S., becomes just the latest retailer to either close stores or shut down altogether.
Gateway Mall has borne the brunt of the closures in Lincoln, with Younkers having closed last summer and Sears now in its final week of business. In addition to Charlotte Russe, other Gateway tenants that either have closed or are in the process of closing include Payless ShoeSource, Yankee Candle, Things Remembered and Rogers Jewelers.
Yankee Candle closed its other Lincoln store at SouthPointe Pavilions, which also lost Gap, one of the original tenants when the mall opened more than 20 years ago.
Toys 'R' Us, Shopko and Mattress Firm are among other retailers that have closed or are closing Lincoln locations.
As of Dec. 31, the city's retail vacancy rate had ticked up to 5.3 percent, its highest level in four years.
